A Surprise Right in Our Backyard
I couldn’t believe that after nearly living here my entire life, I’d never set foot in the Ventura Aquatic Center, even though it officially opened in late fall 2005! It turns out this gem had been hiding in plain sight at 901 S. Kimball Road, Ventura, CA 93004 this whole time.
Booking Made Easy (But Limited!)
We snagged our tickets online, as reservations are required and daily spots are limited. The tickets are only $10 per person (ages 3-Adult - free for 2 & under). It’s worth booking in advance to guarantee entry.
The facility was super clean, a refreshing sight. There’s a 25-meter recreation pool, a zero-depth-entry “water playground” pool perfect for littles, and, yes — two big water slides that our kids couldn’t get enough of.
Bring Your Own Picnic Feast
The Aquatic Center doesn’t sell food on-site, but they do welcome you to bring your own snacks and drinks. There’s plenty of seating around the pool and picnic tables for casual family meals.
We made a quick detour to Pizza Chief, just a three-minute drive away, and packed in some cheesy goodness before splashing into fun.
Pools for Every Age
Safety and fun go hand in hand here:
- Family pool at a shallow 3’6” depth—perfect for all ages.
- Smaller kid area complete with gentle water features.
- Two exhilarating water slides—our kids rode them on repeat.
Summer Hours & Facilities
Currently, the summer schedule runs daily from 12 PM to 4 PM. It’s concise, so planning is key.
Beyond the pools, you’ll find:
- A 50-meter competition pool and other class and event facilities like lap swim, lessons, and birthday party rentals
- Dressing rooms, plenty of picnic tables, and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Visiting the Ventura Aquatic Center was a revelation – a world-class aquatic facility right around the corner, blending safety, cleanliness, and fun into a perfect family outing. From swift online booking to home-packed pizza and unending water slide joy, it truly delivered summer magic. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.
