Autumn is officially here in Ventura County, and there is no shortage of seasonal adventures to share with family and friends. These are our top ten, must-dos to harvest all the fun this fall:

1. Sunday Football Brunch at Discovery. Tis’ the season for sports! Sunday football brunch is back at Discovery! Head on down to this unique bowling alley/entertainment hub for a special all-you-can-eat brunch and NFL Sunday football game! Every game. Every Sunday. Bottomless mimosas. Absolut Bloody Mary Bar. 2. Visit Ventura County’s NEWEST and first self-serve taproom and restaurant. Tap’d has finally opened it’s doors and the beer has officially started pouring. This is Ventura County’s first and only self-serving taproom, located on Main Street in Ventura, right across from the movie theater. Tap’d showcases Ventura County’s finest craft beers, ciders, and even wine! It’s unique because it provides customers with direct access to choices of beverages from all over the nation, with 43 taps always on rotation! Meaning, you can keep coming back and trying something new EVERY time!

3. Ventura Turkey Trot 5k – The 12th annual Ventura Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving Morning at the Ventura Auto Center. A great way to kick off your holiday morning with the whole family with awards, booths, food, and jolly jumps for the kids provide a fun time for all!
Registration ends November 21st, $40 for adults, $10 for children 14 and under, participants can sign up here.

4. Go to an Organic Brewery – Leashless Brew Co. Searching for a new, organic craft brewery to try? Even though they’ve been around for a little over a year, Leashless boasts bold offerings, all with keeping everything organic. With that, they ask that you abide by their non-smoking and non-styrofoam policies. In efforts to help the environment, they ask for smokers to either refrain or deposit their butts in designated areas, and ask their patrons to not bring in any food with styrofoam containers. Come on by for great beer, and even better atmosphere!

5. Ventura County Harvest Festivals: Ventura County has an abundant amount of festivals and markets to visit this season. Snatch up seasonal produce, come decorate pumpkins to impress, or stop by and view local artisans and their offerings for purchase. There is bound to be something for everyone at these recurring Harvest Festivals:

6. Stop by a Winery – Labyrinth Winery Tasting Room
Labyrinth winery boasts a collection of whites and reds that are perfect for any pallet. This fall, why not embark on a new relationship with wine? Labyrinth provides a tasting room, as well as a wine club that features a discounted bottle of wine every month!

7. Painting with a Twist Another great indoor activity as the nights fall colder, is breaking out the brushes. Painting with a Twist allows you to create beautiful art, with the easy guidance from a resident-artist. The fun keeps flowing with their on-site wine and beer offerings.

8. Check out the fall foliage and sip a cozy drink all at once! Spending time outside among the changing colors and grabbing a seasonal drink is an easy and free way to celebrate fall this year. Ventura county offers multiple, year-round hiking trails and parks and exciting coffee houses that are ready to give you a flavorful fall beverage. Check out our recommendations below!

9. Pick-Your-Own Cops at Underwood Family Farms! On weekends starting from 11/3-12/16 you can visit Underwood Family Farms and pick your own vegetables and crops! Ride on a tractor drawn wagon with your family and pick your favorite foods to eat! How special would it be to pick your own food and return home to cook a meal as a family together?
