If you’re looking for a step up from Starbucks, Ventura is your go-to coffee destination. With many local coffee shops, Ventura is your number one Ventura County coffee area! One of the many: Prospect Coffee Roasters.
Prospect is located in between neighborhoods near Main St. You may need to take a few laps around the building to find parking but it’s worth the trek. With a large “Prospect” sign painted on the side of the building and about 4 tables set up outside, this building doesn’t look like your typical coffee shop.
Upon entering, the menu is written on the wall to the left. The cash register displays a few pastries, take-home ground coffee bags, and a small speciality menu. The speciality menu has both coffee and tea ranging from $2.50-$5.50. Play it safe and have a regular latte or cappuccino. Feeling adventurous? Try one of their speciality drinks like the Solimar. A concoction built with espresso, coconut cream, malt syrup and sea salt.
The baristas are extremely friendly but most importantly – patient! Trying a new coffee spot is often a bit challenging – especially when you can’t find your grande blonde roast coffee with 2 Splendas and a splash of cream on the menu. The baristas at Prospect will help you pick a beverage that’s a perfect fit especially for you!
This place is great if you’re in need of a fresh new location to work, study or even relax. Bring a good book and catch some rays outside with your matcha latte! Whatever the excuse. This place should definitely be your first stop early next morning.
