Breweries are all the rage right now, and with so many popping up right now it’s hard to decide which one is the best fit for you. The Dudes’ Brewing Company in Thousand Oaks is the perfect place for those who want to get away from their 9-to-5 life for a bit and unwind in a relaxed atmosphere. One thing that makes this Brewery unique is that it isn’t located in the industrial area of Ventura County like most breweries, it’s inside the Janss Marketplace Shopping Center.
Upon arriving to Dudes’ Brewing Company, the outside windows are tinted – so from a distance it may appear to be closed but don’t hesitate, fun lies within those doors. Once you step in you are greeted by corn-hole boards as well as a beer pong table on your left. Yay to adult games! Large TV’s line the walls, so if playing games aren’t your thing catch a sports game. There is a good amount of seating, so if you don’t feel like sitting on their signature bright orange bar stools take a seat at the picnic style tables available.
Dudes’ Brewing Company offers 24 beers on tap with 3 nitro handles and 6 experiments pilot brews, there are plenty options available for all craft beer loving dudes and dudettes. Although Dudes’ is all about beer feel free to bring kids along as well, there is a box of games available for them to play with. Snacks like chips and jerky are sold at Dude’s, but if you want something more hearty go ahead and get something to go from one of the surrounding restaurants and bring it in.
We tried a flight, which gives you the freedom to try four 4oz samplers of any beer they have on tap. Deciding between 24 different brews was difficult but the staff are friendly and helpful. In the end we chose Grandma’s Strawberry Pie, 820, Juicebox Series: Blood Orange, and Sunshine In A Glass.
- Grandma’s Strawberry Pie is a cream ale that will have you shocked because the strawberry flavor is so yummy.
- 820 is a delicious classic blonde that is smooth all the way down.
- Juicebox Series: Blood Orange is a semi-sweet amber ale that offers a creamy, chocolaty, citrus flavor with each sip.
- Sunshine In A Glass is a witbier that provides light citrus and spice notes.
All the brews were extremely tasty and unique. After finishing the flight, 820 took the cake, so we ordered a pint of it as well. Once you find the perfect beer take some home in a growler or inquire if it is available in a 4-pack to-go can.
Not only does Dudes’ have delicious brews but they have many cool events! The first Wednesday of every month is comedy night. Happy hour is available on weekdays from 3pm-6pm. Every Saturday from 8pm-10pm there is live music. Trivia night is at 7:30 pm on Thursdays. The most unique event of all is Yoga & Beer offered the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am-11am for $10 (cash only), so bring a mat and get your yoga on. The next time you find yourself pondering on what to do, stop by Dudes’ Brewing Company and grab a cold one.
